Witness Kenya’s Great Migration – and More

The second phase of the annual migration of a million wildebeest across Kenya’s Serengeti plain – aptly known as the Great Migration – is underway. Come May, the rains will have stopped, and the vast herds will be forced to move on, towards the north and the famous Masai Mara reserve.
Tourists who wish to see this mind boggling event usually have to book more than a year in advance to secure their spots. But you can witness it – along with the rest of this stunningly diverse East African country – merely by opening a book, Jean Hartley’s This is Kenya.
This is Kenya takes the reader on a journey of discovery through a land of great diversity and natural beauty. The text is broad in scope yet reveals fascinating detail about this enigmatic land. Over 250 stunning photographs provide an exciting and diverse overview of the country, its people and its wildlife, creating a compelling visual essay. These are complemented by detailed introductory text that establishes historical perspective, and offers insight into a country that has proved itself capable of maintaining a leadership role in Africa since its move to independence.
